Zantes is a fictional farmer's wife and a minor character featured on the 1974 television series Planet of the Apes, which was partly based on the 1968 film series produced by Arthur P. Jacobs. She was played by actress Jacqueline Scott and appeared in episode 1x04, "The Good Seeds".
Biography[]
Zantes was a humanoid ape of the chimpanzee species. She lived on a farm some distance outside of Central City, California in the year 3085. She was the wife of Polar and the mother of Anto, Jillia and Remus. Of all members of the family, Zantes appeared to have the least resistance towards helping humans, and was more than willing to aid a fallen ape, such as she did when fellow chimpanzee Galen injured his leg while descending a steep slope.
