Zachary Edward Snyder is an American film director, producer and screenwriter born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on March 1st, 1966. He was raised in Greenwich, Connecticut where he attended the Daycroft School in Stamford. Following high school, Snyder studied art abroad before returning to the United States where he attended the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.
Career[]
Snyder made his directorial debut in 2004 with the stylish remake of George Romero's 1978 horror classic Dawn of the Dead. In 2006, Snyder directed the feature film adaptation of the Frank Miller comic book graphic novel 300. He followed this up in 2009 with another comic book film adaptation, this time taking on the popular Watchmen series created by British comic scribe Alan Moore. In 2010 he directed the animated family film Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole and in 2011 he directed the fantasy sci-fi film Sucker Punch, which he also produced and co-wrote. In 2012, Zack returned to the comic medium to helm Man of Steel, another relaunch of the popular Superman franchise.
