Biography[]
In the year 1970, Yousef Bey was chosen by the aging Andoheb to become the new High Priest of Arkam. He was the successor to Mehemet Bey, who died shortly beforehand. Andoheb gave Yousef the Amulet of Arkam, marking his position.
Yousef Bey was charged with traveling to the American city of Mapleton in Massachusetts to revive the mummy of Kharis, whose body had been injured in a house fire at the Banning estate. In addition to retrieving the body of Kharis, he also learned about the body of Princess Ananka, which he was supposed to bring back to Egypt.
During this affair, Yousef learned about a young Egyptian girl named Amina Mansouri, whom he believed to be the reincarnation of Princess Ananka. Feeling smitten by her, he kidnapped Amina and tried to bring the consciousness of Ananka to the surface through the use of Tana leaves. This enraged the mummy of Kharis, who turned against him. During Kharis' attack, Yousef Bey fell out of a window and died.
