Yaddle is a fictional alien and a minor character featured in the Star Wars multimedia franchise. She appeared in the 1999 prequel film Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. She was rendered using puppetry and was operated by puppeteer Phil Eason.
Biography[]
Yaddle was a member of the same alien race as Yoda, born sometime around 509 BBY. She was a member of the Jedi Council based on Coruscant and was present when Qui-Gon Jinn first brought nine-year-old Anakin Skywalker before the council with a petition of training him in the year 32 BBY. Yaddle died some time later, well before the onset of the Clone Wars. [1]
In 26 BBY, Yaddle was part of a mission to the planet Mawan along with Obi-Wan Kenobi and his padawan learner, Anakin Skywalker. Grant Omega released a bio-weapon that threatened to kill many of the planet's natives. Jedi Master Yaddle threw herself into the blast, sacrificing herself to protect others. [2]
