Plot[]
Yorick Brown is an out-of-work stage magician and escape artist, who tries to make extra money on the side by teaching stage magic to others. His closest companion is a Capuchin monkey named Ampersand. His sister is Hero Brown, who is a paramedic from Brooklyn, who attends substance abuse recovery meetings. Yorick and Hero are the children of Congresswoman Jennifer Brown.
Congresswoman Brown has an ongoing professional relationship with the President of the United States, though there is some measure of friction between the two, owing largely to accusations of misogyny.
Elsewhere, a woman known only as Agent 355 completes a mission, which involves setting off a bomb at a house of some known criminals. Following this, she is recruited by her respective agency, to take on a bigger mission, which involves the President of the United States.
Yorick wants to make a fancy dinner for his girlfriend, Beth, but he is short on money. He manages to convince his sister to lend him a hundred bucks, which he requires in order to make a romantic meal of wine and grilled cheese. During his date, he asks Beth to marry him, which puts Beth into a very awkward position. Beth is set to move to Australia for her career, which would require Yorick to uproot his entire life. Yorick is willing to do so, until Beth implies that part of her journey may involve meeting other people.
Meanwhile, Hero is having a sexual tryst with her paramedic partner. After having sex in the back of the ambulance, they end up getting into a fight, and Hero begins throwing stuff at him. The man angrily defends himself, and becomes too physically aggressive with Hero. Taking the defense herself, she accidentally kills her lover when a thrown obstacle punctures his throat.
Moments later, the entire world erupts into chaos as all of the male members of the human population begin spitting up blood and falling over dead. Everyone that is, except for Yorick and his trusted monkey.
