Notes & Trivia[]
- The X-Men were created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby. They first appeared in The X-Men, Volume 1 #1 in September, 1963. The title eventually evolved to include the "All-New, All-Different" X-Men, after which the series became a runaway hit, ultimately changing its title to Uncanny X-Men. Since then, this outcast team of mutant misadventurers have appeared in numerous comic book titles that have since been adapted into several cartoon programs, feature films, and video games; not to mention copious amounts of merchandising ranging from toys to apparel.
- Beau DeMayo served as showrunner on this series.
- The re-done music score for this series was conducted by The Newton Brothers.
- The events of this series picks up one year after the conclusion of "Graduation Day", which was the series finale of X-Men: The Animated Series. That episode introduced plot elements which carry through into X-Men '97.
- Voice actors Cal Dodd, Lenore Zann and George Buza return to the franchise in their respective roles as Wolverine, Rogue and The Beast.
- This series establishes that Morph is non-binary. This is demonstrated in the end-credit character profile segments in which the character is identified using the "they/them" pronoun.
- Voice actor Ross Marquand provides the voice for Professor X. Marquand is no stranger to Marvel Comics media. He also played Johann Shmidt, aka the Red Skull in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, as well as the voice of the Earth-838 version of Ultron in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
