X-Men: First Class is an American feature film of the superhero fantasy and action genres. It is based on the X-Men series of comic book titles published by Marvel Comics. The film is the first in a series, which serves as a reboot of the previous X-Men film trilogy, but ultimately ties into the continuity of that series as well. The movie was directed by Matthew Vaughn with a screenplay written by Ashley Edward Miller, Zack Stentz, Jane Goldman and Vaughn, based on a story treatment by Sheldon Turner and Bryan Singer. It was produced by Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, in association with Marvel Entertainment and released theatrically in the United States on June 3rd, 2011.

- The movie was shot primarily in England as well as parts of Argentina, Georgia, and Los Angeles, California. [4]
- Englefield House, which is located in Theale, Reading, Berkshire, England was used for the exterior shots of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. [4]
- In 2015, Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation will release a reboot of the Fantastic Four, in which Matthew Vaughn will serve as a producer. According to internet rumor at the time, Vaughn alluded to the idea that the Fantastic Four film will take place in the same shared continuity as X-Men: First Class.
