"The Blood Hunters" is the story title to the third issue of the first X-Force ongoing comic book series by Marvel Comics. The story was written by Fabian Nicieza and co-plotted by Rob Liefeld. Liefeld also did the interior artwork and inks, as well as the cover art composition for this issue. It was colored by Brad Vancata with lettering by Chris Eliopoulos. The story was edited by Bob Harras. This issue shipped with a September, 1991 cover date and carries a cover price of $1.00 per copy (US).

  • X-Force was created by writer Fabian Nicieza and artist Rob Liefeld. Initially comprised of former members of the New Mutants, they first appeared as X-Force in New Mutants, Volume 1 #100 in April, 1991 titled "The End of the Beginning". They subsequently branched off into their line of comic book titles beginning with X-Force #1 in August, 1991.
  • This issue was released in both direct market edition and newstand edition. The direct market edition has a Captain America 50th Anniversary graphic in place of the UPC code.
  • This issue is reprinted in the X-Force hardcover collection and X-Force Omnibus, Volume 1.
  • This is the first appearance of Garrison Kane who becomes a recurring character throughout the series.
  • The title of this story is also the cover art tagline for this issue.
