Wuher is a fictional bartender and a minor character featured in the Star Wars multimedia franchise. Played by actor Ted Burnett, he appeared in the original 1977 film Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
Overview[]
Wuher was a middle-aged man from the planet Tatooine. He worked as the day shift bartender at Chalmun's Cantina in Mos Eisley. Wuher maintained a no-droids policy at the establishment and told Luke Skywalker that they do not serve "their kind" when he tried to enter the bar with R2-D2 and C-3PO.
After a patron named Han Solo gunned down a young bounty hunter named Greedo, he walked past the bar, tossed Wuher a credit chip and said, "Sorry about the mess". [1]
Abilities[]
- Enhanced smell: Wuher had an abnormally enhanced sense of smell. When Greedo was shot and killed by Han Solo, the body produced a scent, which Wuher believed would make an ideal ingredient for a beverage. He subsequently had Greedo ground up and mixed into a drink, which he served to Jabba the Hutt.
