"Death Trap" is the fourth episode of season one of the sci-fi espionage series World of Giants. It was directed by Byron Haskin and written by Donald Duncan. It first aired on CBS on Saturday, September 26th, 1959. In this episode, Bill Winters is involved in an automobile accident. The accident throws the top secret briefcase belonging to Mel Hunter clear of the scene where it can be found by anyone.

- Director Byron Haskin also directed six episodes of The Outer Limits. He directed "The Hundred Days of the Dragon", "The Architects of Fear", "A Feasibility Study", "Behold Eck!", "Demon With a Glass Hand" and "The Invisible Enemy".
- Actor Tom Brown also plays a deputy sheriff in episode 2, "Time Bomb".
- Actor Wade Cagle will make an appearance in the "A Handful of Hours" episode of Men Into Space in 1960.
- Actor Tom McKee also played Larry Gregson in the series' pilot episode, "Special Agent".
- Keith Richards, not to be confused with the Rolling Stones guitarist of the same name, also played a doctor in chapter twelve of The Invisible Monster serial in 1950. He also played Stanley, assistant to Doctor Bronson in the 1951 film When Worlds Collide. In 1954 he played Harve Bennett in The Snow Creature and in 1955 he appeared in two chapters of the Commando Cody: Sky Marshall of the Universe serial. In 1956 he played a slave in World Without End and in 1957 he played Clyde Bishop in the "Killer Tree" episode of Science Fiction Theatre.
- Final sci-fi work for actor Clarence Straight. Straight also played a night club patron in the 1949 adventure film Mighty Joe Young. In 1948 he had an uncredited role as a man in a suit of armor at a costume party in the sci-fi/horror/comedy film Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein.
