Wonder Woman 1984, stylized as WW84, is an American feature film of the superhero fantasy and action genres. It is based on the character of Princess Diana, aka Wonder Woman, as seen in comic books published by DC Comics. The film was directed by Patty Jenkins with a screenplay written by Jenkins, Geoff Johns, and Dave Callaham. It was produced by Warner Bros., Atlas Entertainment, and DC Entertainment. The film was originally slated for a Winter, 2019 release, but was moved up to a projected June 5th, 2020 release date. This was also postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the movie ultimately premiered on the DC FanDome virtual platform on December 15th, 2020 with a limited theatrical release in the United States and United Kingdom on December 16th. - The character of Wonder Woman was created by writer William Moulton Marston and artist Harry G. Peter. She first appeared in a back-up feature in All-Star Comics #8 in January 1942 titled "Introducing Wonder Woman". The character then went on to headline two ongoing titles, Wonder Woman and Sensation Comics and has appeared consistently ever since.
