William Welch was a television and film producer, story editor and script writer used extensively by Irwin Allen Productions. His first work in a sci-fi feature was the pilot episode of Irwin Allen's television series Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea titled "City Beneath the Sea". Welch also contributed his talents to programs such as The Time Tunnel, Lost in Space and Land of the Giants.
