Wild Space is a term applied to the Star Wars multimedia franchise. It refers to a region of the known galaxy that exists on the periphery of charted regions beyond the Outer Rim. Most worlds or colonies that inhabit these areas are not aligned with any specific intergalactic government such as the Galactic Republic or the First Galactic Empire. However, both august bodies have manifested a presence in Wild Space. There are many trade routes through these regions, which is apt terrain for smugglers, pirates and bounty hunters. One planet of note that exists in the Wild Space regions is Kamino.
