The Whirlwind is a fictional group of vampires featured on the WB Network television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off series Angel.
History[]
The Whirlwind is the name attributed to a quartet of vampires that led a murderous siege across Western Europe throughout the late 19th century. The origins of the group go as far back as 1753 when the vampire Darla first sired Angelus. In 1860, Angelus found a distraught seer named Drusilla, and made her into a vampire. In 1880, Drusilla turned a tortured poet named William Pratt into a vampire and he henceforth became known as Spike.
