"West of Sundown" is the otherwise untitled frist issue of the West of Sundown ongoing comic book series published by Vault Comics. It was written by Tim Seeley & Aaron Campbell with artwork & inks by Jim Terry. It was colored by Triona Farrell and lettered by Crank!. Rebecca Taylor served as managing editor on this series. This issue shipped to retailers in April, 2022 and carries a cover price of $3.99 per copy (US).
"West of Sundown"[]
In Manassas, Virginia in 1861, Confederate soldier Dooley O'Shaugnessy discovers a coffin in a cemetery containing a vampire known as Constance Der Abend. Dooley becomes her loyal companion and protector and aids Constance in returning to New York City, so she secure her resting spot in native soil. Over the span of a decade, Constance establishes herself as a member of high society with Dooley always by her side. However, she is compelled to travel west towards her homeland and sets up in a town called Sangre De Moro in New Mexico. Constance and Dooley soon discover that the only things more dangerous than vampires are the hunters who would destroy them. A grotesque reanimate known as Mister Dirck learns of Constance's presence, and makes plans to put an end to her.
