"Life in the Fast Lane"[]

Armed with a lead to the location of the Cult of the Third Moon, Jack Russell tells Roxanna that he needs to leave for a few days. He gets there and tells the armed guard Johnson that he is Billy Deegan from Fort Worth, Texas. The guard doesn't believe him and tells him to leave. After Jack departs, Johnson reports the visit to the decrepit cult leader Walter Clark. Clarke tells him that if anyone else happens to show up he is to shoot them on sight.

That evening, Jack transforms into the werewolf and crashes through the window of the Clarke estate, disrupting a session of ritualistic human sacrifice. He demands the Wolfsblade, but the cultists brandish their own rifles and begin shooting at Jack.

As the werewolf tears through the cultists, one of their member is pushing aging Walter Clark in his wheelchair at the top of a staircase. The cultist panics and the wheelchair tumbles down the steps, breaking Walter's neck. The werewolf leaps atop him and demands the Wolfsblade or else he will infect him with lycanthropy. Clark knows that Russell wants the blade because it is believed it will allow him to control the "beast". He tells him that the Wolfsblade is useless without its sister components. At this point, Clark dies.

Sometime later, Jack Russell is at a carnival with Roxanna. Roxanna excuses herself to use a restroom and Jack meets a strange bespectacled bald man. The man seems to know all about Jack Russell and tells him that he knows where to find the other two mystical components he requires. He brings him to a "ghost train", which he says leads into a dimensional portal. By entering it, Jack will learn everything he needs, but he only has seventeen seconds to decide before the portal closes. The man warns Jack to not underestimate Hell and that the Inferno is not to be taken lightly. Jack gives him a wry smile and says "Don't worry about it. I go there all the time".
