"The Lurker Behind the Door!"[]
The morning following his escape from Calliope's Carnival and Circus, the werewolf falls asleep in the woods (after terrorizing some hunters), and awakens as Jack Russell. Seeking shelter, he finds a cave that happens to have a large bolted door inside of it. Jack manages to open the door and finds the skeleton of a warlock named Amos Treach. He also finds Treach's journal, which tells the tale of how he had summoned a demon named Krogg. Though Treach managed to seal the demon inside the cave, Jack unwittingly sets it free. Krogg decides to repay this kindness by granting him a merciful death. Jack turns into the werewolf and fights with Krogg. Ultimately, their fight causes a cave-in. Jack manages to escape, but Krogg is buried and sealed up once again.
Meanwhile, L.A.P.D. detective Lou Hackett goes to the Malibu home of Philip Russell. He asks to speak with Lissa Russell, and Phil asks if she is in trouble. Hackett tells him no, but he wishes to question her concerning suspicious werewolf activity in the Los Angeles area.
