"The Marauder and the Man of Iron"[]

Mask Marauder, Iron Man and Werewolf

The Masked Marauder opens fire on Iron Man & Werewolf.

The Werewolf spies the Masked Marauder and his goons attempting to break into the National Bank of New York. He leaps to attack them, not realizing that Iron Man has just swooped in bent on accomplishing the same goal. As the werewolf collides into Iron Man, ole' Shellhead mistakes him for one of the Marauders' goons and the two begin fighting. The werewolf tries to convince him that they are on the same side, but Iron Man isn't convinced. The werewolf succeeds in turning the hero's own repulsor blasts against him, then tries bashing at him with a trash can lid. As the Marauder creeps up behind them with a laser gun pointed at Iron Man's back the werewolf pushes him out of the way, spoiling the villain's shot. This convinces Iron Man that they are both on the same side, and they turn to face the Marauder and his men. The Marauder uses his opti-blast to temporarily blind his opponents, then makes off with his men in a helicopter getaway.

Iron Man and werewolf

"Maybe I shouldn't take a sick werewolf to the hospital."

Werewolf is exhausted, so Iron Man flies him to Avengers Mansion so he can recuperate. The Avengers' butler, Edwin Jarvis, meets the Werewolf for the first time, and is immediately startled by his visage, but then becomes fascinated by him.

Meanwhile, Topaz is with officers of the New York City Police Department and leads them to the bank hoping to find Jack. When they arrive, they see the opening in the bank wall that the Marauder caused, but no signs of Jack or the robbers. The officers want to bring Topaz to the station to make a statement.

Werewolf and Jarvis

Only Jarvis could spoon-feed hot soup to a werewolf.

In Malibu, California, Lissa Russell, Elaine Marston, and her daughter Buttons visit Buck Cowan while he recuperates from recent injuries. Suddenly, a mysterious invader enters the premises. Buttons screams aloud, and Buck grabs his pistol. He finds Lissa unconscious on the floor, and a voice speaks aloud, "Your time has come, Cowan". Buck drops his gun in surprise, for he recognizes the attacker.

The Masked Marauder, seeking to improve on his original Tri-Man concept, goes to the Central Park Zoo and abducts a gorilla, a cheetah, and an alligator. He brings them back to his secret lair, where he duplicates the physical attributes of each of them in order to create a new lifeform, the Tri-Animan!

Meanwhile, Tony Stark contacts Matt Murdock to learn more about Frank Farnum - the Masked Marauder. From Matt, he learns the location of some of Farnum's known hideouts. Once Jack Russell has rested, he turns into the werewolf and Iron Man and he fly out to investigate. When they arrive at Farnum's hideout, they find that the Tri-Animan has come to life!
