Weakness detection is the ability to detect and/or determine the vulnerabilities in any variety of existing systems. Such systems may include mechanical, structural, electrical, or even biological. Individuals may posses such an ability as a super-power, but it may also be found in technological devices as well.

In the Star Trek mythos, the android known as Data has demonstrated limited ability to detect the vulnerabilities in systems through an observational and tactical systems analysis.

In the Marvel Universe, the Inhuman known as Karnak possesses this as a power. Karnak once described the nature of his power to his cousin Gorgon Petragon over drinks:

In everything there hides a flaw - be it structural, geological, psychological. To me, these flaws appear like beacons that guide the way to weakness. The cracks appear at the periphery of my awareness. To be intuited... interpreted. It matters not the size of the structure. Nor the material from which it is made. Everything has an imperfection that can be traced to one single point and exploited.

On the 2017 television series Inhumans, Karnak's ability to detect weakness has turned him into an extreme pessimist, and even a borderline nihilist. It his nature to lend voice to the flaws he finds in others, and has no ability to discern how his words may affect those who hear them. As an applicable ability, Karnak was able to strategize the most effective way to defeat a group of highly trained guards. After being exiled to Earth, Karnak suffered a severe injury, which affected his powers. It took him several days before he could heal correctly.
