The Warren family are an actual family whose lives have been fictionalized in films. They were first portrayed in the 1991 television movie The Haunted by director Robert Mandel. The most notable members of the family include Ed Warren and his wife Lorraine. Ed and Lorraine were paranormal investigators who founded the New England Society for Psychic Research in 1952. Their exploits are chronicled in the Conjuring film series.

The Warren family resided in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Ed Warren was born on September 7th, 1926 and died on August 23rd, 2006 at the age of 79. Lorraine Rita Moran was born on January 31st, 1927 and died on April 18th, 2019 at the age of 92. John Zaffis, a nephew of Ed and Lorraine Warren, founded the Paranormal and Demonology Research Society of New England in 1998. He was the creator and star of the paranormal reality TV series Haunted Collector, which aired on Syfy from 2011 to 2013.
