Wanda Maximoff is a fictional super-hero and a supporting character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Based on the character of the Scarlet Witch as seen in titles published by Marvel Comics, she first appeared in an after-credit scene in the 2014 film Captain America: The Winter Soldier. She took on a larger role in the 2015 movie Avengers: Age of Ultron. She also appeared in the subsequent film sequels, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. In 2021, she took on a starring role in the Disney+ streaming series WandaVision. The character was played by actress Elizabeth Olsen.
