Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch, is a fictional mutant super-hero featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. She is part of the mainstream Marvel Universe and is associated with the Avengers and X-Men line of titles. She first appeared in The X-Men #4 in March, 1964. The Scarlet Witch has also appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film series. Played by actress Elizabeth Olsen, she was introduced in the 2015 film Avengers: Age of Ultron.
