Mister Criswell is a fictional department store manager and a minor character featured in the Child's Play film series. He was played by actor Alan Wilder and appeared in the original 1988 film Child's Play.
Biography[]
Walter Criswell was an uptight department store manager at Carson Pirie Scott & Co in Chicago, Illinois. In 1988, he worked at Carson Pirie Scott & Co where he scolded employee Karen Barclay when she leaft her jewelry stand to purchase her son Andy a doll from a peddler in the alley. He then informed Karen that another employee had called in sick, forcing Karen to return to work two hours after her shift ended.
Though she tried to get out of it, Walter Criswell threatened to fire her if she did not do it. Karen's friend and co-worker, Maggie Peterson offered to take her spot, but he reminded Maggie that she worked in the shoe department, not the jewelry department.
