"The Best Defense" is the story title to the twenty-eighth issue of The Walking Dead comic book series published by Image Comics. It is the fourth chapter in the six-part "The Best Defense" storyline. The story was written by Robert Kirkman with interior artwork and inks by Charlie Adlard and grey-tone color highlights by Cliff Rathburn. Adlard also rendered the cover art illustration to this issue. The story was lettered by Rus Wooton. This issue shipped with a May, 2006 cover date, and carries a cover price of $2.99 per copy (US).
