- This issue establishes that a person does not need to be bitten by a roamer in order to turn. This notion is also presented in the TV series and first shown in "Better Angels", and confirmed in "Beside the Dying Fire".
- This is the final appearance of Shane in the series. Appears as a zombie only. Rick finishes him off with a shot to the hed.
- This is the final appearance of Julie. She was killed by Chris in issue #14. Appears as a zombie in this issue and is shot by Chris again.
- This is the final appearance of Chris. Choked to death by Tyreese and then burned in the yard before he could reanimate.
