"Squeeze" is the ninth episode of season ten of the zombie survival horror television series The Walking Dead, and the 140th episode of the series overall. Synopsis[]
Daryl Dixon, Carol Peletier, Aaron, Connie, Jerry, Kelly and Magna are trapped in an underground cave. The Whisperers had previously herded a horde of zombies into the caverns, and the survivors have to hopscotch across rocks over a chasm, or risk falling below and being consumed by flesh-eaters.
Carol is having a particularily difficult time as her claustrophobia is now giving way to anxiety. Daryl tries to keep her calm, but also takes a moment to warn her against her ongoing mission of revenge against Alpha. Magna meanwhile, feeling guilty over how things ended with Yumiko, is working overtime to get through the cavern and won't even give herself a moment to rest. Jerry - being such a large man, is likewise having trouble as it is difficult for him to squeeze through the crawl-spaces that the group are now forced to struggle through.
Meanwhile, back at the Whisperer camp, Negan comes upon Alpha as she is squatting over a poop-hole. Ever the schemer, Negan begins planting ideas in Alpha's head about the loyalty of her followers, implying that one of them might be feeding information to the other camps. Alpha warns him about sowing paranoia within the ranks, but then returns to the camp where she tells Beta that they might have a traitor in their midst. They both agree that Gamma appears to be the most suspicious member of their group. Alpha returns to where she left Negan and decides to "reward" him for confiding in her. She strips down naked and forces Negan to do the same. The two embrace and prepare to make love in the middle of the woods. Negan insists that Alpha keeps her skin mask on during their congress.
Back in the caverns, the group continues their struggle to get through to the exit on the other side. They find that the caves lead into the ruins of what was once a mine. They find a bag of dynamite, but Daryl warns them against doing anything with it. Carol ignores his warning and takes the dynamite back towards the opening where the horde was and sets if off. The explosion shakes the cave and everybody has to double-time it to escape. Unfortunately, a section of the mine collapses, leaving Magna and Connie trapped inside.
