"Diverged" is the twenty-first episode of season ten of the survival horror television series The Walking Dead and the 152nd episode of the series overall. It was directed by David Boyd with a script written by Heather Bellson. It first aired on AMC on Sunday, March 28th, 2021.
Plot[]
The friendship between Carol Peletier and Daryl Dixon is still strained, and the two decide to spend some time away from each other. Daryl elects to continue scouting around in the woods, while Carol returns to Alexandria.
Wanting to make up for the sins of her past by contributing something of value, Carol asks Jerry what she can do to help out. Jerry has no real advice to give her, so Carol decides to make some soup at her home. This becomes more of a chore than she suspected, as she has to deal with a misbehaving Dog, as well as a pesky rat that has been scittering behind the walls of her home. As her frustration mounts, she does what anybody living in a post-apocalyptic world would do. She goes out and kills a bunch of zombies.
Daryl meanwhile, undergoes his own series of troubles, as his motorcycle breaks down and he has to forage for parts from an abandoned vehicle. A walker trapped inside a car makes things difficult, but its nothing that a big hunting knife and some good old fashioned grit can't take care of.
