Season Eleven is the eleventh and final season of the post-apocalyptic zombie horror television series The Walking Dead, which aired on AMC. The season aired for an unprecedented full twenty-four episode order, beginning on August 22nd, 2021.
This season focuses on the protagonists' encounters with the Commonwealth - a group introduced in the back-end of season ten. The Commonwealth are a large network of communities that has advanced equipment and almost fifty thousand survivors living in their different settlements.
Additionally, the season also focuses on the group's confrontation with the Reapers, a mysterious faction of hostile survivors that attacked and took Meridian, the former home of Maggie Rhee and her new people, the Wardens.

- The Walking Dead is a based on the comic book series of the same name created by writer Robert Kirkman and artists Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard. It was published by Image Comics & Skybound Entertainment and ran for 193 issues from 2003 to 2019. The Walking Dead program was developed for television by Frank Darabont.
- This season comprises episodes #154-177 of the show. Episodes aired on Sunday evenings at 9pm EST.
- This season adapts material from issues #175-193 of The Walking Dead comic book series.
- Angela Kang is the series showrunner for the final season. She first came aboard the series in season three as an executive producer. This is her third season as showrunner.
- Filming for season eleven began in February, 2021. Pre-production on the season had been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- "Acheron (Part 1)" had a special run-time of sixty-seven minutes.
- With this season, actors Cooper Andrews and Callan McAuliffe (Jerry & Alden respectively) go from the Also Starring cast to the main cast line-up.
- Actors Okea Eme-Akwari, James Devoti, Glenn Stanton, and Laurie Fortier are all added to the Also Starring cast.
- Actor Jackson Pace, who plays Gage, was born the same year as former series star Chandler Riggs, who played Carl Grimes in seasons 1-8.
- Actor Michael James Shaw previously played Papa Midnite in the TV show Constantine.
- Stephanie Vega, a character who had previously only been a voice over a radio, makes her first full appearance in this season.
- This season sees the return of Lynn Collins as Leah Shaw, who was Daryl Dixon's love interest from the season ten flashback story, "Find Me".
