"Fires of Death" is the first episode of season four of the American sci-fi/adventure series Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and the eighty-fifth episode of the series overall. It was directed by Jerry Hopper and written by Arthur Weiss. It first aired on ABC on September 17th, 1967.

In this episode, Admiral Nelson takes the Seaview to prevent an active volcano from erupting any further, causing even more undersea upheaval. Doctor Turner joins the group, but has his own agenda in mind. Believing that it holds the key to immortality, he actually seeks to cause the volcano's eruption, rather than prevent it. [1]
