Biography[]
Voren Na'al was a young man who grew up during the early years of the Galactic Civil War. An ambitious yet unimposing individual, Voren worked as a reporter for the Galactic News Service. One of his assignments brought him to the planet Corsin in the Greater Ploorid Cluster where he was to cover the Swoop bike races. Without warning, a platoon of Imperial Stormtroopers entered the press arena and placed all of the attending reporters under arrest. Na'al was released soon after, but learned that the Empire had strengthened it's military might on Corsin in order to replace the regional government with one more sympathetic to Emperor Palpatine's New Order initiative.
It was this incident that emboldened Voren, driving him away from the Galactic News Service and led him to join the Rebel Alliance. Holding the rank of lieutenant, Na'al worked as an assistant historian under Major Arhurl Hextrophon, executive secretary and master historian under Alliance High Command. [1]
Following the Battle of Yavin, Major Hextrophon assigned Voren Na'al the task of compiling extensive information regarding people, places and events that preceded the Battle itself beginning with the journey of Commander Luke Skywalker from his final years on the planet Tatooine up until the destruction of the first Death Star. The information he gathered was eventually included in the Official History of the Rebellion, Volume 1. [2]
In 0 ABY, Voren Na'al journeyed from an Alliance base on Thila and traveled to Tatooine. He worked under the cover of a journalist for the Imperial News Bureau, which enabled him to gather information without arousing the suspicion of the local Imperial garrisons.
