The Vision is a fictional robot superhero featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is part of the mainstream Marvel Universe and first appeared in Avengers, Volume 1 #57 in October, 1968 in a story titled "Behold... the Vision!" Although originally conceived as an antagonist, the Vision became a virtuous character and joined the Avengers in the following issue. He has been classically associated with the Scarlet Witch, and the two were actually married for many years. The Vision possesses the ability to alter his own density, reducing his mass to the point of intangibility, but can also increase his mass to become as hard as diamond, thereby giving him superhuman strength and durability.
