Vir Cotto was a supporting character featured in the 1994-1998 science fiction television series Babylon 5. Played by actor Stephen Furst, he was introduced in the series' pilot episode, "Midnight on the Firing Line". Although credited in all 110 episodes of the series, the character actually only appeared in 44 episodes.
Biography[]
Vir Cotto was an alien of the Centauri race from Centauri Prime. He served as an executive assistant to ambassador Londo Mollari and worked aboard space station Babylon 5.
In 2258, Vir received an emergency transmission revealing an unprovoked assault by rival species the Narns against a Centauri agricultural station at Ragesh III. Vir frantically told the news to Londo, knowing that Londo's nephew, Carn Mollari, was stationed at the facility. (B5: Midnight on the Firing Line)

- Actor Stephen Furst is best known to audiences for playing pudgy fraternity pledge Kent Dorfman in the 1978 comedy Animal House.
- Stephen Furst also directed three episodes of Babylon 5. He directed two episodes from season 4, "The Illusion of Truth" and "The Deconstruction of Falling Stars" and one episode from season 5, "The Corps is Mother, the Corps is Father".
