Doctor Sleep[]
Violet was a little girl from the American midwest. She was born sometime in the mid-to-late 1970s. In 1980, Violet wandered off from her mother and came to a pond where she found a dark-haired woman wearing a top-hat sitting down. The woman introduced herself as Rose the Hat and engaged in conversation with Violet. She attempted to engender trust by performing a few routine magic tricks. Violet was entertained, but grew nervous when she saw several strange individuals converging on their location. Rose told her that she nothing to fear from these beings. Rose and her confederates were actually supernatural beings who fed off psychic energy, which Violet happened to possess. Rose killed Violet and collected her psychic energy, which she called Steam. Feeding off this Steam allowed her to continue to live without aging. She collected the girl's Steam into a metal phial and fed off of it for the next several decades. (Doctor Sleep)

Violet was a resident of the Pinehurst Youth Development Center. Little is known of her early life before coming to Pinehurst, but she seemed to be a loner with little patience for others. However, she did follow Matthew Letter's instructions when it came to chores, such as folding laundry and setting the breakfast table.
While hanging up some sheets with a girl named Robin, Violet was approached by the dim-witted, yet well-meaning Joey, who offered to help them. Joey was a bit of a mess, and in the process of eating a candy bar, which had smeared all across his face and hands. When he tried to help the girls hang laundry, he smudged chocolate on the linens and Vi and Robin yelled at him, with Vi referring to Joey as an "asshole". As the admonished Joey lumbered off, Vi stated that she was not going to re-wash the linens.
Comics[]
Another character named Violet was one of the main protagonists and survivors from the 2005-2006 limited series Friday the 13th: Bloodbath as well as the Friday the 13th: Fearbook one-shot special. Violet and her boyfriend Rich were among several youths selected to stay at Camp Crystal Lake, which had been renamed as Camp Tomorrow. This was actually part of a plot orchestrated by a mega-corporation called the Trent Organization who wanted to use people as bait to lure Jason Voorhees out of hiding, so they could capture him, study him, and possibly divine the secrets behind his immortal regeneration. The tactic worked insofar as drawing Jason out, but as per custom, he cut himself a bloody swathe across the entire campground. Violet managed to escape, but Rich succumbed to injuries he sustained during the massacre. Violet was found by a military unit employed by the corporation and brought back to their base. She managed to escape, but Jason Voorhees appeared, and began slicing through soldiers at the facility. He attacked Violet who attempted to escape by jumping out of a window. Her final fate is unknown.
