Videodrome is a Canadian feature film of the science fiction and horror genres. It was written and directed by David Cronenberg. It was produced by Victor Solnicki Productions and the Canadian Film Development Corporation and distributed through Universal Pictures. It premiered on February 4th, 1983. The film stars James Woods as Max Renn - the president of a TV network who tries to capitalize on the controversial torture porn program known as "Videodrome".
