Ada LaBostrie[]

Ada LaBostrie was a dark-haired Cajun woman who hailed from the town of Dogpatch, just outside of Houma, Louisiana. She was the wife of Gene LaBostrie and an ally of Alec Holland and Abigail Holland. Ada assisted Abby when she was pregnant with Tefé Holland. (Swamp Thing Vol 2 Annual 4) Ada nearly became a victim of serial killer/faith healer Father Tocsin. After attending one of Tocsin's tent revivals, Ada was poisoned with strychnine. She found enough strength to crawl back to Gene and the Swamp Thing who then used his powers to purge the poison from Ada's body. For revenge on the attack on his wife, Gene manipulated Father Tocsin into killing himself. (Swamp Thing Vol 2 110)

Alec Holland[]

Alec Holland was a scientist who attempted to create a bio-restorative formula aimed at benefitting mankind. When criminal agents sought to take control of Holland's work, he was exposed to his own experimental formula and submerged into swampy waters of Louisiana, whereupon he was transformed into a humanoid creature of vegetable matter. Chosen as the Earth Elemental by the Parliament of Trees, the Swamp Thing protects the swamps and surrounding environs from the machinations of mad scientist Anton Arcane. Along the way, he takes a mortal bride named Abigail Arcane, befriends a wise-cracking British mage named John Constantine and sires an elemental daughter named Tefé.

Alex Logue[]

Alex Logue was the owner of the Casanova Club in Newcastle, England. He is partially responsible for discovering the 70s punk-rock band, Mucous Membrane. In 1978, Alex relied upon the services of John Constantine and the Newcastle Crew to help exorcise a demon that had taken possession of his daughter, Astra. (Hellblazer 11)

Ali[]

Ali was the proprietor of John Constantine's neighborhood sundries store. Ali frequently sold John cartons of Silk Cut cigarettes. He became the target of vandalism by a group of skinheads known as the British Boys.

Astra Logue[]

Astra Logue was the daughter of club-owner, Alex Logue. In 1978, a fear elemental called the Norfulthing took possession of her, and a group of amateur occultists commonly referred to as the Newcastle Crew led by John Constantine attempted to exorcise the entity from her body. The exorcism failed horribly however when Nergal was summoned, and Astra's spirit was consigned to Hell. (Hellblazer 11)
