Venom: Let There Be Carnage is an American feature film of the action, science fiction and super-hero fantasy genres. It is the sequel to the 2018 film Venom, which is based on characters and concepts developed by Marvel Comics. It was directed by Andy Serkis with a screenplay written by Kelly Marcel based on a story treatment by Marcel and series star Tom Hardy, who plays the lead role of Eddie Brock in the film. It was produced by Marvel Entertainment and Sony Pictures Entertainment and premiered in London, England on September 14th, 2021. It opened to wide release in the United States and Canada on October 1st, 2021. In addition to Tom Hardy, actress Michelle Williams returns to reprise the role of Anne Weying with Woody Harrelson returning from his post-credit cameo from the previous film as Cletus Kasady, aka Carnage. Actress Naomie Harris joins the cast as a secondary antagonist named Frances Barrison, aka Shriek. And of course, what would this franchise be without the lovely Peggy Lu as bodega proprietor Mrs. Chen?

- Eddie Brock is a journalist & anti-hero who is classically known by the code name of Venom. He was created by writer David Michelinie & artist Marc Silvestri and is part of the mainstream Marvel Universe. He is generally associated with the Spider-Man line of titles as well as his own spin-off franchise and was introduced in Web of Spider-Man #18 in September, 1986. Eddie made his first full appearance as Venom in a splash panel in Amazing Spider-Man #299, and had his first full story-arc in Amazing Spider-Man #300.
- The Venom symbiote is an alien entity featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. It is associated with the Spider-Man and Venom line of titles and first appeared in the "Homecoming" story from Amazing Spider-Man #252 in May, 1984. It was created by writer Roger Stern & Tom DeFalco and artist Todd McFarlane.
