Vampirella is an American comic book series of the horror and science fiction genres. It is based on the character of Vampirella as originally seen in the Vampirella illustrated magazine series published by Warren Publishing. This is the first time that Vampirella has been featured in standard comic book format, as well as the first time being featured in full color. The series was produced by Harris Publications and ran from November 1992 to November 1993, spanning a total of five issues. A special 'zero' issue was also published.

The series was written by Kurt Busiek with script treatments from Tom Sniegoski beginning with issue #2. It was drawn by Louis Small, Jr., and initially inked by Jim Balent, but then switched over to Matt Banning with issue #4. It was colored by Digital Chameleon, Kevin Horn, & Rod Perez, and lettered by Kevin Cunningham. Issue #5 involved a completely different creative team with Dan Jolly as writer, Karl Altstaetter and John Stinson as artists, and additional inks by Bob Downs and Jason Felix.

Notes & Trivia

  • All five issues of this series comprise the "The Dracula War" storyline.
  • This is actually Harris Publications' second produced work involving the Vampirella character. In 1988, they continued the publishing of the first series in magazine format with issue #113. The intent was that this was going to be a quarterly series, but only one issue of the title was released.
  • The zero issue was also published with special retailer incentive variant editions with different colored logos. These include: Blue, gold, red and silver.
