V: The Series was a short-lived television series that served as a sequel to the the original V mini-series as well as the follow-up mini-series V: The Final Battle. The series first aired on October 26th, 1984 and only lasted nineteen episodes. The program was discontinued due to the per episode production costs. V was created by V creator Kenneth Johnson, but Johnson had very little involvement with the actual development of the show. The series continued subplots that originated in the first two mini-series and introduced new characters while recycling key favorites from the original. The pilot episode of the show begins one year after the events of V: The Final Battle. A second V weekly series began production in 2009, but this program was not a sequel or spin-off, but rather a re-imagining of the original series concepts, featuring brand new characters.
