"Red Rain" is the first episode of season two of the science fiction television series V and the thirteenth episode of the series overall. It first aired on the ABC network on Tuesday, January 4th, 2011. In this episode, the populace of Earth begin to turn against the Vs as the strange red skies blankets the entire planet. Nobody knows what this signifies and the Visitors are no longer communicating with the people of Earth. A fleet of Visitor ships arrive and Anna addresses the fleet Captains, assuring them that her leadership abilities are uncompromised. Meanwhile, Ryan returns to the Fifth Column free of the Bliss. The other members of the group find a scientist who possesses the remains of a Visitor skeleton discovered more than fifty years ago.

Notes & Trivia

• This episode has been made available on disc one of the V: The Complete Second Season DVD and Blu-ray collections.

• The woman at the end of the episode whom Anna addresses as "mother" is Diana. She is played by Jane Badler, who played the original Diana in the first V mini-series and subsequent television series. Although this is a different continuity, Badler's character is named Diana in homage to her original character.

• Lourdes Benedicto's character Valerie Stevens is seen in the recap of "Red Sky", but does not appear in this episode.

• This is the first episode that provides the viewer with a better look of the Vs in their true form. Anna slashes away the mask of one of her captains and one side of his true face can be seen. Ryan's daughter's entire head can be seen inside of an incubation tank. A full V skeleton is also seen in the episode. The Vs were revealed to have tails in "Red Sky", but this is the first time that an adult Visitor tail can be seen. Their tails are approximately four feet in length and the tips of the tails are barbed with a razor-sharp edge.
