Unfriended is an American feature film of the horror genre with an emphasis on the paranormal thriller genre. It was directed by Leo Gabriadze with a screenplay written by Nelson Greaves. It was produced by Bazelevs Production and Blumhouse Productions and premiered at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Canada on July 20th, 2014. It made its U.S. premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival on March 13th, 2015. The movie features an ensemble cast of teenage characters who communicate with one another over Skype, only to find themselves the target of a vengeful spirit of a classmate who had been bullied to the point of committing suicide.
