Under the Hood is the title to a fictional book featured in the Watchmen multimedia franchise. Excerpts from the first two chapters of the book were presented at the end of Watchmen #1 in September, 1986.
Description[]
Under the Hood was an autobiography written by retired super-hero and police officer, Hollis Mason, formerly known as Nite Owl. In the book, he describes his youth in Montana, relocating to New York City where he became a police officer, and the emergence of the world's first costumed super-hero, Hooded Justice. He leads up to when he becomes costumed hero himself, the Nite Owl and a member of the Minutemen.
Later chapters go into detail about a scandalous event wherein his colleague in the Minutemen, Edward Blake raped Sally Juspeczk, the Silk Spectre.
