Synopsis[]
A meteor lands in the desert somewhere in the Middle East. Shortly thereafter, strange phenomena begins to occur. Jim from the Science Special Search Party goes to investigate, but must call upon aid from the Japanese branch of the Science Patrol. The Science Patrol team flies out, leaving Akiko Fuji behind. Entering the region, they encounters a massive column of light emanating from the ground. Mitsuhiro Ide, determining that the light column is electromagnetic in nature, uses its gravity pull to sling-shot over top of it. The Jet VTOL crash lands however, and Ide suffers a head injury. Cap makes him stay behind to repair the radio, while the rest of the team investigates on foot.
As they travel through the desert, they use a Geiger counter to pick up energy readings. From the ship, Ide spots a giant insectoid creature emerging from the sand. This is Magnetic Monster Antlar. Ide escapes from the craft, but the Jet VTOL sinks into the sand. The other members of the Science Patrol engage Antlar and Cap tries using his spider shot laser. Antlar uses electromagnetism to pull it away, however.
Fleeing, they make it to the mysterious city of Baradhi. Jim tries to communicate with the locals, but cannot understand their language. The leader of the community, Chartham, comes to greet them. She is telepathic and can understand their language through ESP. She brings them to a temple where she presents a statue of their god, Noah. However, Noah appears to be an effigy of Ultraman. In the statue's hand lies a blue stone.
Antlar appears and destroys a temple. An old woman decides to rush the monster, but collapses before she can get to it. Shin Hayata carries her to safety, then activates the special capsule that transforms him into Ultraman. Ultraman fights with Antlar, but Antlar blows up clouds of dirt and dust to blind and disorient the hero. It then emits its electromagnetic beam, which locks Ultraman into place. Ultraman's energy counter quickly depletes and he is nearly powerless. Chartham retrieves the blue stone from the statue of Noah and gives it to Cap Muramatsu, who throws it at Antlar. The stone explodes and Antlar appears to be defeated, sinking back into the sand. Ultraman flies off to change back into Hayata. A new Jet VTOL arrives to pick them up.
