It began as a live-action television series in 1966 by Tsuburaya Productions and aired on the Tokyo Broadcasting System from July 17th, 1966 to April 9th, 1967, spanning a total of thirty-nine episodes. The property has since spun-out into numerous follow-up programs, feature films, comic books and manga.
