The USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D is a fictional space vessel featured in the 1987-1994 science fiction television series Star Trek: The Next Generation. It first appeared in the series' pilot episode, "Encounter at Farpoint" and appeared in every subsequent episode of the series as well as the 1994 feature film Star Trek: Generations, where it was ultimately destroyed.
Description[]
The Enterprise-D is the fourth starship to bear the name Enterprise and was active during the late 24th century. It was a Galaxy-class starship captained by Jean-Luc Picard, with Commander William T. Riker serving as his second-in-command as well as interim captain during the time that Captain Picard was assimilated by the Borg and considered missing in action.

- The Enterprise-D was also briefly seen in flashback in the pilot episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine entitled "Emissary", in which it was involved in a campaign known as the Battle of Wolf 359.
- The Enterprise made an appearance in the series finale of Star Trek: Enterprise entitled "These Are the Voyages..."
- The Enterprise-D made a non-canon appearance in the 2010 Family Guy send-up to Star Wars entitled Family Guy Presents: It's a Trap, which is an animated spoof of the 1983 film Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
