Notes & Trivia[]

  • Two Lost Worlds was filmed at Red Rock Canyon State Park in Cantil, California. More than forty years later, another dinosaur-themed adventure film would also be filmed at Red Rock Canyon State Park - Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park.
  • Two Lost Worlds was re-released theatrically in the United States in 1952.
  • Two Lost Worlds was hyped as a giant monster movie, but the only "monsters" are actually just dinosaurs. The dinosaur scenes featured in this film are actually taken from stock footage used in the 1940 film One Million B.C. and only appear for two to three minutes. They do not appear until fifty-eight minutes into the movie.
  • Along with the jungle adventure film Bowanga Bowanga, this is the final film work for director Norman Dawn.
  • Actor James Arness, best known for his work in the Western genre, also appeared in notable sci-fi classics such as The Thing from Another World and Them!.
