The Twisted Childhood Universe is a branding label applied to a series of films produced by Jagged Edge Productions, which is operated by producer Rhys Frake-Waterfield. Also colloquially known as the "Poohniverse", it represents a shared continuity for properties that are in the public domain. The concept takes recognizable child-friendly concepts and reinterprets them for an adult-aligned horror movie landscape. The brand kicked off in 2022 with its inaugural project Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey. With a budget of $100,000, the film went on to gross $7.7 million in the global market, despite receiving negative praise for its editing and production value. The movie developed a cult following that was strong enough that a sequel went into production. Armed with a stronger budget and the ability to make dramatic improvements to its visual effects, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 was not so much a sequel as it was a reboot, establishing that the first movie actually exists as a film (based on actual events) within the continuity of the second installment. That movie also introduced the character of Mary Darling, who would be the first to establish a solid link within this shared continuity when she appeared again in Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare in 2025. The next three installments in the line-up were all projected for a 2025 UK release, which includes Bambi: The Reckoning, Pinocchio: Unstrung and Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble.
