Tuscany Valley is a fictional location featured in the "Buffyverse" multimedia franchise. It serves as a seldom-referenced yet omnipresent setting featured on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer television series which aired on the WB Network and UPN from 1997 to 2003.
Description[]
Tuscany Valley is located in southern California. The area of Sunnydale County runs through parts of the valley, which includes the former town of Sunnydale. At the heart of Tuscany County sits a demonic portal known as a Hellmouth. Tuscany Valley suffered massive geological upheaval in 2003 following the destruction of Sunnydale, which left behind nothing but a massive crater.

- Hellmouth
- A Hellmouth is a mystical aperture that bridges the dimensions between reality and the realms of Hell. A confluence of mystical energy, it is an ephemeral portal of great power. Demons and vampires are frequently drawn to it, and more than one nefarious individual has attempted to take control of a Hellmouth. The most famous Hellmouth is the one located beneath Sunnydale High School in Sunnydale, California. This Hellmouth was destroyed however by the next generation of Slayers as well as a vampire "Champion" named Spike. Watcher Rupert Giles informed them only moments later that another such Hellmouth existed in Cleveland.
- Sunnydale
- Though largely a suburban community, it is known for its numerous churches and graveyards. Unlike most American communities, Sunnydale is host to all manner of vampires, demons, ghosts and ghouls. This is due largely to the fact that Sunnydale's high school sits directly atop a Hellmouth - a mystical gateway nexus and aperture into various dimensions of Hell. Sunnydale was destroyed following a battle between the Slayers and the First Evil. The only thing left behind is a massive crater.
