Turran Kha is a fictional mind-slaver and a secondary antagonist featured in comic books published by DC Comics. He is part of DC's Pre-Crisis Earth-One continuity, and appeared in 1st Issue Special #12 in March, 1976.

Biography[]

Turran Kha was a member of the Talokian race and served as a mind-slaver under the leadership of Komak. He held the title of First Guardsman of the Worldstone. He was very loyal to Komak and was known for his prodigious size and strength. Komak even had Kha demonstrate his strength by crushing a chair in his bare hands.

Komak sent Turran Kha to capture the renegade Mikaal Tomas. He used his mild psychic abilities to track Tomas' psychic signature and found him in the Bronx. The two began fighting, and Kha slammed Mikaal's head into the ground. Tomas retorted by kicking him squarely in the chest. Neither combatant seemed phased and they both got to their feet to resume their fight. [1]

Abilities[]

  • Psychokinesis: Turran Kha has some measure of psionic abilities, thus earning him his position as a Mind Slaver. He can also perceive the psychic signature of other members of his race, which he used to track down Mikaal Tomas.
  • Superhuman strength: All Talokites possess strength levels greater than that of the average Earth human. Turran Kha's size allows him an even greater measure of strength when compared to other members of his race.

Notes & Trivia[]

The character of Turran Kha was created by writer Gerry Conway and artist Mike Vosburg.

  • Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-One era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985-86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis continuity, and should be considered apocryphal.
