Turghan is a fictional tribal chieftain and a minor antagonist character featured on the science fiction television series Stargate SG-1. Played by actor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, he appeared in episode 4 of season one, "Emancipation".
Overview[]
Turghan is a chieftain of the Shavadai on the planet Simarka. He is the father of Nya, whom he intended on marrying off to a desert warlord named Chimakka. Nya's true love, Abu, captured SG-1 team member Captain Samantha Carter and offered her to Turghan as a means of securing his own relationship with Nya. Carter was forced to prove her merit as a warrior by entering into a trial by combat with Turghan.
