Wayne Bosen buys some Tru Blood.
Tru Blood is an artificial blood substitute featured in the television series True Blood. Created by a Japanese firm, Tru Blood enables vampires the ability to sustain themselves without having to resort to drinking blood from humans. Because of this, vampires were able to "come out of the coffin" and reveal their existence to mainstream humanity. Though many vampires are satisfied consuming Tru Blood, many more scoff at the invention, citing it as a poor imitation for the real thing.
Tru Blood was first seen in the series' pilot episode, "Strange Love", when a "good ole boy" vampire named Wayne Bosen purchased a four-pack from a Grabbit Kwik store in Renard Parish. [1]
Vampire Bill Compton began drinking Tru Blood on a regular basis when he decided to start mainstreaming. He later went back to live feeding.
Tara Thornton guzzled two four-packs of Tru Blood at Merlotte's after first becoming a vampire. [2]
